How is it that I missed this month for the last 27 years? My mother in law says it always rains in June. I can really not remember ever having this much rain in a 2 week period during the summer before, though... It's WONDERFUL. It's raining outside now (I'm on the porch thing). It's so cool, and humid, and it's so envigorating! (Well, it would be tonight, but I just got done with migrating from one server @ work to another, but it's Shabbes, so I'll go into that on Sunday or somewhen.)

Got an oil change and tire rotation, nothing wrong/bad was found (2nd time that's happened, maybe someone is smiling on me?). My plant from work was doing well enough that I decided to get another one, a palm, and take it to work, and bring the asterick ivy home. We'll see how it does outside first, it should actually get some direct sunlight in the morning at least, which is more than it got at work (north facing windows are wonderful, they don't get too hot, and I have a great view of downtown denver IMHO).

If it's raining tomorrow morning, I'm doing shul-at-home. It probably won't, but that's ok. But if it is, there's no way I could waste a good rainy day when I can stay at home and spend half an hour doing the shul thing. The local Rabbi's going on sabbatical, so I probably won't convert anytime soon. I did, though, voluntarily add the pork rule to my eating limits (no shell fish, now no pork). I can't decide if I'm going to go biblical kosher (ie. poulty and fish and meat (aka. mammilian meat) are all separately listed and categorized) or rabbinical kosher (poultry was declared "meat" (aka. in the same category as mammilian meat) by some Rabbis in the... 10th century, I believe).

Also, I can never really decide if I really want to convert. It might cause some conflict btwn and me, and of course there's the question of raising kids. We'd probably have to hem and haw over the exact wording that I could agree to, and the Rabbi would have to be involved, and I dunno if she's really wanting to involve a Rabbi in something that is, from a goy POV, between us two only... Just wait until I get to wanting to add the family purity (aka. no, um, you-know-what for almost 2 weeks a month). But I'm thinking if we do a wedding-like-thing (since we didn't do one in the first place), we might do it in a somewhat stereotypical Jewish theme (chupah, some of the wording/words and the walk around the guy thing, etc...)

She (the wife) does, though, seem supportive of my not eating pork. I'd been afraid that she would really have a problem with it, because it does limit what I can eat (okay, why is it that we can make some 20-odd kind of meats from a pig and only 4 or so from a cow?!). I just declared that I wasn't going to eat pork, and she was like "ok". And I told Janet and Art (inlaws) and they aren't having a problem with it either (which is kinda weird to me, but I can't quite tell what they think of my pursuing Judaism). Haven't told my mom, but she doesn't do pork already herself (most of the time). My mom's pretty supportive of me becoming Jewish.
