Okay, so I have a night to program, I'm ready to work on OpenHMS, my HTTP Mail server I'm writing, and my luck, the backend hotmail server my hotmail accounts are on are offline. Grrrr. I can get MS OE6 to login, but it goes to the folder query and fails, there's some extra tag or something, and now I can't compare it (my previous dumps only show folders with only messages, not folders with subfolders..)

updates

By the way, we have a new website, WiegandFamily.com, which has both Kris' and my websites. I've posted some pictures I had lying around. So.... sent out the address change cards a few days ago, started getting some contacts from people I hadn't heard from in awhile, though not everyone yet. The weather was nice yesterday, the high was 57 F. Sadly, winter must leave, and it will get hot. Man do I wish Colorado had a real ocean coastline, then the weather wouldn't be as bad, and we'd get some rain even.... (and no, I will *not* move to California!).

I should get my raise this summer, really it's a pay adjustment, from $41K a year to ~$55K a year. Dmitriy makes $57K a year, and I told them that I was worth to them just as much as he is, we do similar work, so I should get similar pay. They agreed. I don't know if I'll get his pay scale or not, but definitely a Real Pay Raise. I won't see it until July, but still, it's nice to look forward to.

I'm starting to look at possible places to vacation this year. Especially since I'll have that raise, I should be able to save up to take a late-summer vacation. I don't know where, yet, though. Kristin wants someday to go out of the country (we'd go to Canada, the water's safe there). I wouldn't mind visiting Germany again, but my german is rustier than it was back in high school, and it would be EXPENSIVE to go overseas. I think we'll stay on this side of the world. Places I've thought about: Florida (Kris wants to go to Sea World and all), New York (I love NYC, and upstate NY is supposed to be beautiful when the leaves change), Texas (father's family), Wyoming (friend), Washington state (mother's distant family). We visited South Dakota last year, so I think maybe this year we'll go somewhere else (sorry guys!).

Oh, and I emailed the rabbi here to see if this year I could get in on a seder, and still haven't heard back. I'll probably email the office email addy Monday if there's no response... Last year I didn't go to one because Micah's seder was too blasted expensive. Previously I've always gone to Micah's. Oh well.

Chinese Element of Water
You are the chinese element of Water. People who
are under the element of Water are creative,
independent and intelligent. Water you are a
dreamer, but are quite vulnerable, and have
hidden agendas. The color of water is black,
and your symbol is the tortoise. Winter is the
season in which Water shines and it's months
are October/November. Your weather condition
is cold. Water is the direction of north, and
your day is Wednesday, while your planet is
Mercury. Animals under your element are
usually shelled. People under you are Turks.
Your sense is hearing, your taste is salty,
your sound is moaning and your virtue is
knowledge. Your organs are the kidneys. You
were created by Metal and control Fire.

Well, just got a Lexmark P707 printer, hoping it will work ok.

Have gotten OHMS a little further, now it can query a folder on the backend, but tying that to the mod_perl handler seems to be giving me problems. Ah, but why can't Perl do hashes in arrays in hashes, using refs all around? *sigh*

We're nicely moved in, we're moving books from the Bailey's over to here and putting stuff up. I think we might be ready for a house-warming next weekend, but we'll see, it depends on how much we get done around here this week.

Used the sandwich maker for the first time this morning, it was good. Skipped lunch, had turkey sausage for dinner (no, it wasn't kosher).

Moved WAY too many boxes full of books today - 5 boxes, then a media cabinet, the DVDs that had been in the cabinet,

Now that we've got a photo-capable printer, we'll probably take some photos of the place, and us in them, and update our photos on the website and send them out to friends. :)

YAY! I've got a static IP, and I'm no longer triple-NATed behind an old RedHat 6.2 server (currently 10.0 (Fedora Core 1) is out). PPTP and FTP work again!

May barbarians invade your personal space!
Utinam barbari spatium proprium tuum invadant!
"May barbarians invade your personal
space!"
You are highly confrontational and possibly in a
bad mood. You would have sworn in this quiz,
if I had made it an option.

Well, I've come down with something, dunno what. Finally got the monitoring server at work up and running, now I'm playing with DBI in perl to monitor the sql server 2000 box. We have a new domain, www.wiegandfamily.com and new email addresses underneath. Not much else going on, although sometime we're going to start going through this stuff in the new place.
